Geometric modeling is essential to a computer-aided design package. While developing abstract data structures for basic CAD objects, I tried to see how far geometric abstraction could go. In what ways are a circle and a square the same object? Where do concept and mathematical implementation join?

Most of my applications work in EDA is in the Boundary Math and the Business sections. These pieces describe some problems for the field as a whole. Dominant is the Tower of Babel of design languages ranging from very-high level software specification to very low level hardware layout. I propose a deep programming language to bridge from intention to algorithm to physical device. I examine the art of semiconductor design, and some specific problems with reconfigurable hardware.
